Here's the future McLaren Super Series
THE NEW MCLAREN 720S ON THE RUN
Its presentation is scheduled for the Geneva Motor Show, but the replacement of the McLaren 650S is shown today thanks to a photo taken during a confidential event.
McLaren has taken the task of "teasing" his second generation Super Series, the range that will replace the current 650S and its many variations. But all his efforts now become somewhat useless since a stolen photo of the British supercar has just appeared on the Internet. And it reveals much about the future McLaren, starting with his style, a priori more refined.
In effect: exit the gaping side air inlets and place on otherwise smooth surfaces. To achieve such a result, McLaren opted for an unprecedented design of the doors. The latter now guide the flow of air under the body thanks to an ingenious hollow structure. The long edges between the rear-view mirror and the underbody seem to indicate the shape of the resulting aerodynamic tunnel. The muzzle of the sport also marks a big change compared to the 650S. We will wait for the official photos to pronounce but it seems that the look refines and leaves the light signature in boomerang of the current McLaren.
A well visible 720S badge
But beyond the physics of the new McLaren, this cliché confirms his surname. One can guess a "720S" badge at the level of the front wing. If we keep to the McLaren nomenclature, the first model of the future Super Series will therefore have 720 hp or 45 hp more than the 675LT, already considered a "mini-P1" by the People who had the chance to take the wheel. It remains to be seen whether this power will always come from the V8 3.8 biturbo which currently animates all the models of the range. The rumors evoke the arrival of a block realized to 4 liters all round.
